Mummification!

Mummification is one of the oldest and effective way to preserve the bodies of Emperors or important beings. Mummification was used by many different cultures such as, The Aztecs the Pacific Islanders, and the Egyptians who had truly mastered this art!

The first step in the process of mummification is evisceration. Evisceration is the removal of all internal organs. Everything is removed except the heart. It was believed that without a heart you could not pass on to the afterlife and the Egyptians thought the heart was the centre of their intelligence. Everything is removed the lungs, stomach, intestines were all washed and packed away in natron which will dry them out. Then a long hook is used to mush the brain up and let it ooze out of the nose.

Then the body is covered in salt and wrapped in natron to dry out the body, then in 40 days time the body is unwrapped and more salt is added and once again wrapped in linen cloth, and a waterproof tension is added and then buried in his/her tomb and buried. Then his/her journey to the afterlife will begin.

I'm so smart :)
